PASA wins Women's Team Title at the Short Course Nationals

PASA wins Women's Team Title at the Short Course Nationals held in Federal Way, WA  Dec 3-5.  Since college teams are ineligible for team awards during the school year PASA (who finished 3rd behind CAL and USC) won the women's title by a slim point and a half over King Aquatics of Washington (185.5 to 184).  This marks PASA's first national women's title in team history. The team title came down to the final relay (the 4x100 free relay) where King held a six and a half point lead on PASA, so that we would have to beat them by four places to gain the victory.  In a tightly contested battle going into the final 50, PASA was in 3rd followed by King in 4th, but the King swimmer faded to 7th giving PASA the team title.

Below is a summary of records broken at the meet by our ladies and attached are a few photos of the last night:
 
-Maddie Schaefer won the 18-under National title in the 50 Free breaking her 15-16 Pacific Record time with a 22.52
-Jasmine Tosky broke the 15-16 Pacific Record in the 200 Fly, set by Natalie Coughlin in 1998, with a time of 1:56.22
 
In Relays we set the following records:
 
15-16 and 15-18 Pacific and National Records in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:32.21.  The team consisted of Maddie Schaefer 16, Jasmine Tosky 15, Sarah Liang 16, Julia Ama 15
 
15-16 and 15-18 Pacific in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:21.13.  The team consisted of Maddie Schaefer 16, Jasmine Tosky 15, Julia Ama 15, Alicia Grima 15
 
15-16 Pacific and National in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 7:21.64.  The team consisted of Jasmine Tosky 15, Maddy Schaefer 16, Julia Ama 15, Alicia Grima 15
 
15-16 and 15-18 Pacific in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.46.  The team consisted of Alicia Grima 15, Sarah Liang 16, Jasmine Tosky 15, Maddie Schaefer 16
